Roger's Story

HARTLAND - Roger "Skip" L. Lathrop, 69, passed away at his Hartland home on Oct. 19, 2014. He was born October 27, 1944 in Presque Isle, Maine, the son of Edwin and Alvene (Ayotte) Lathrop.

Skip is survived by his wife of 49 years, Althea M. Lathrop, a beloved daughter, Seven Star Grenier and her husband, Mark of Vassalboro, his granddaughter, Rebecca Grenier, whom he adored, his brother, Loren Lathrop of South Portland, a very special sister-in-law, Seven Star Shaw of Corte Madera, CA. He leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

He attended Schools in Presque Isle and auto body school in Portland. He proudly owned and operated Skip's Auto Body Shop for more than 40 years. He enjoyed restoring antique automobiles and traveling to auto shows, auctions, swap meets and junkyards.

He was known by family and friends for his calm, quiet demeanor and a wonderful sense of humor.

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Joan McCausland, two brothers, Edwin "Junior" Lathrop and Lloyd Lathrop.
