Roger's Story

STEUBEN - Roger E. Kennedy, 76, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2015, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born on December 1, 1938, the son of Carroll and Pauline Kennedy in Milbridge, Maine.

Roger married the love of his life, Priscilla West Kennedy, 57 years ago. They were inseparable with her always by his side.

Roger's passions were his family, friends, and lobster fishing.

Roger was a friend to all. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family in his garage/trap shop, where lobster fishing stories were told while Roger smoked his pipe.

Roger could tell a story or spin a yarn like no one else and along with the grin on his face, brought laughter to everyone in the room.

Roger was predeceased by his parents, his daughter-Penny Kennedy, sister-Donna Merchant, and brothers- Carroll and Paul Kennedy.

Roger leaves behind his wife of 57 years, 2 children, his son-Bryant Kennedy and his fiancé, Valerie, his daughter-Alta Kennedy and her partner, Larry, 5 grandchildren, Michael Bills and his special friend, Misty; Roger Kennedy and his wife, Angela; Bryant Kennedy and his wife, Kate; Priscilla Bills and her husband, Kris; Tom Palmer and his wife, Rachael; Teague Palmer and Madison Kennedy; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Lance, Tyler, and Edgar Charles; sister-Paula Pottle and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Roger will be sadly missed by all his garage buddies, fellow fishermen, as well as all who knew him.

Roger had an infectious smile that would light up a room and will shine forever in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 3:30pm in the afternoon at Evergreen Cemetery, Rt 1, Milbridge, Maine. A celebration of Roger's life will be held immediately following at the Ella Lewis School Gym, Rt. 1, Steuben Maine. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Steuben Fire Department, Steuben Volunteer Fire Sept., PO Box 236 Steuben, Me. 04680, where he was a member for 17 years.
