Roger's Story

Caribou - Roger B. Jones, 74, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born in Caribou, the son of Norman and Ora (Doody) Jones.
Roger graduated from Fort Fairfield High School, and worked as a long haul trucker for most of his life. He was a loyal friend who was always available when anyone needed him. He'll be remembered as a friendly, kind, and gentle person who loved the outdoors, and hunting in particular.
Roger is survived by his fiancée, Earlene Athmer of Caribou; his son, Jeffrey Jones and his wife, Kim of Limestone; his grandson, Nathan Jones; and great-granddaughter, Aria Jones of Limestone; his siblings and their spouses, Ralph and Cynthia Jones of Fort Fairfield, Melvin and Kathy Jones of Vernon, CT, Elta (Jones) and Ray Killcollins of Saco, Philippa and Victor Ciesielski of Presque Isle, and Eva Usyk of Utica, NY. In addition, his in-laws and their spouses, Lonnie and Rita Levesque, and Shelba and Larry Pierce, all of Fort Fairfield. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his wife, Sheila (Levesque) Jones; and his daughter, Heidi Jones.
Friends and family may call from 6-8pm, Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover Street, Caribou. A graveside service will be held 1pm, Friday, September 23, 2016, at Crouseville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge, 97 Refuge Road, Limestone, ME 04750.
