ALTON - Roberta A. Violette, AKA "Bert" or "RAB", 58, died peacefully March 5, 2015, at a Bangor hospital with family by her side following a four and a half year battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1956, in Bangor, a daughter of William and Ruby (Haskell) Blanchard.
She worked many years as an activity director at the Orono Nursing Home. She enjoyed growing strawberries and roses and gardening. She enjoyed rides to camp with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Michael and Jeremy Violette of Indian Island; her twin sister, Rhoda Coffin and family; siblings, Brenda Hartt and family, Rhonda and Bill Blanchard and family, Billie Jean Beck and family, Virginia and Mark Estes and family, Byron Blanchard; a best friend that was just like a sister, Norma Wieman and family; many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, William, and her best companion, Bear.
A casual celebration of life reception and memorial gathering will be held 6-8PM Wednesday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. There will be no formal funeral services.
