BELFAST - Roberta H. (Hallowell) Lear, 93, of Belfast, passed away on November 23, 2014 at Tall Pines. She was born July 4, 1921, in Belfast, the daughter of Vilento and Faustie (Hanson) Hallowell.
Roberta was a long-time Belfast resident who moved to Unity in 1991. She was a bookkeeper at Consumers Fuel in Belfast for 36 years. Some of her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family and her little dog Holly.
She is predeceased by her parents, first husband, Robert A. Wood, second husband, Linwood Lear and sister, Thelma Hickley. Roberta is survived by her beloved children, Linda Sherrard and husband, Gerald E. of Hermon and stepson, Richard L. Lear and wife, Carmen of Florida; her grandchildren, Kimberley Baxter, Kevin Sherrard; step-grandchildren, Richard Lear Jr., Lori Jarvis, Robert Lear Jr., Ronald Lear, Sandra Toothaker and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to Tall Pines, 34 Martin Lane, Belfast, ME 04915. Memories and condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
