TOLLAND, CT - Roberta (Golding) Durdan, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 18, 2016. She was born on August 10, 1935 in Mount Chase, ME to Victor and Phyllis (Glidden) Golding.
She graduated high school in Houlton, ME at the young age of 16. Shortly after graduation she moved to CT and met Charles (Chip) who became her friend, husband and lifelong partner. She was a very talented woman with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the Billy Graham Choir in Hartford, CT. She was also an avid painter, seamstress and loved athletics.
Roberta leaves behind Charles (Chip) her loving husband of 61 years. She is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Debra of Tolland, CT; Allan and his wife Michelle of Fort Myers, FL; and her grandchildren Ashley and Nicolas of CT and Richard "RJ" and Jillian of FL. She is predeceased by her brothers James and Eugene.
A special thank you to all of the amazing caregivers at Visiting Angels of Tolland, Companions and Homemakers of Enfield and Vitas Hospice in Glastonbury. A very special thank you to Judy, Helina and so many others who provided extraordinary care.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 10 am to 11am at the First Baptist Church of Tolland with a service at 11am.
