Robert's Story

DEXTER - Robert J. Robinson, 83, died April 6, 2015, at Dexter Health Care. He was born December 30, 1931, in Ballston Spa, NY, the son of LeRoy and Hazel (Teeling) Robinson.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. However, Bob had many titles, occupations, accomplishments, and awards, throughout his time of service. His time in the Navy included service in the Korean War, and a brief time in Vietnam. After retiring from the service, he worked in N.Y. at his brothers Veterinary Hospital for 9 years. He later worked as the maintenance supervisor at Dexter Health Care for 17 years.

He was a long time member of the Abner Wade Lodge in Sangerville.

He was also a true outdoorsman, enjoyed many adventures including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating. Bob had many fond memories of "outings" with family and friends at Ragged Lake. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; always thinking of others first. He and his wife Sandra enjoyed many summers at their camp at Ragged Lake, and winters, snowmobiling with friends in New Hampshire.

Bob's pets were also a huge part of his family life.

He is survived by his wife Sandra (Tremblay) Robinson of Dexter; his children, Ronald and Dianah Robinson of Dexter, Shari and Richard McCannell of Passadumkeag, Rick and Nancy Robinson of New York, JoDee and Al Tempesta of Dexter; 3 step children, Lisa and Peter Nagle of Livermore, John and Cathy Withee of FL, Heidi and Steve Lawson of Dexter; a brother, Elmer Robinson of NY; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Oken of VA, and Dorothy Robinson of NY; 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

A grave side service with military honors will be held at 4 p.m. June 22, 2015 at the Jackman Corner Cemetery in Sangerville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be sent to Dexter Health Care, 64 Park St., Dexter, ME 04930.
