Robert's Story

HARMONY - Robert Patterson, age 79, passed away December 20, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Dover Foxcroft. He was born April 30, 1935 In Monson, the son of Harry and Matilda (Mackey) Patterson.

He attended Guilford High School and on July 20, 1957, married Loretta Gourley July 26, 1957 in Harmony. He was an Airborne Ranger, worked at the Guilford Woolen Mill where he got to travel to Australia and England. He also worked as a hand sewer for Sandler Shoe, hand sewing contractor for Dexter Shoe, and owned and operated Bob's Construction, and retired from McKusick Petroleum oil as a delivery driver. Bob was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching his sons baseball teams, and keeping track of "PaPa's little man".

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Matilda Patterson; brother, William Patterson; and son, Robert Patterson, Jr.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta (Gourley) Patterson of Harmony; son, Jesse Patterson and wife Jodie of Harmony; 2 daughters, Molly Deane and husband Chip of Scarborough, Teresa Pratt and husband Chris of Harmony; 8 granddaughters, Amanda Patterson of Wellington, Morgan Knights of Lincoln, Nyari Patterson of Bangor, Kristin Rogers of South Berwick, Mariah Page of Biddeford, Mackenzie Peatfield of Harmony, Cidney Pratt of Harmony, and Reaghan Patterson of Harmony; 3 grandsons, Scott Robert Page and wife Ali of Harmony, Robbie Pratt of Harmony, and "PaPa's Little Man", Jacoby of Harmony; 4 great grandchildren, Kyla Knights, Delyla Knights, Gage Page, and Tanner Page; brother, Carroll Patterson and wife Beatrice of Dexter; 2 sisters, Shirley White of Harmony, Julia Smith of Florida; special friend, Trung Banh of California; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. At the request of the family there will be no funeral or visitation hours.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing, may make donations in Bob's memory to any local organizations and foundations.
