CARMEL - In loving memory of Robert Lee Mace, 59, who passed away November 11, 2013 at his home in Carmel, Maine. He was born on December 23, 1953 in Syracuse, NY to Harold and Thelma (Tapley) Mace. Before moving to Maine in the 1980's, he worked for Stickley Furniture Company in Syracuse. Bob was an avid photographer and also enjoyed searching for antiques and collectibles. He was a gifted conversationalist and as part of this hobby made close friends in many other states. He had a passion for music and was an accomplished guitarist. He is survived by his sister, Helen, in Oregon, and brother, Carl, in Florida. A quote by Hunter S. Thompson best describes Bob as follows: "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming "WOW...what a ride!" We miss you Bob, and your wit and undying sense of humor!
