LINCOLN - Robert L. Lyons, 79, died May 23, 2015, at the Maine Veteran's Home, Bangor. He was born September 18, 1935, in Lee, the son of Emery and Viola (Kellogg) Lyons.
He graduated from Lee Academy, served in the US Navy for 4 years, and was a police officer for 16 years in Lincoln. He enjoyed his family, traveling, the beautiful outdoors, fishing, hunting, pets and gardening, and southern gospel music. He was a member of Maranatha Riverside Church in Lincoln.
He was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, and sister-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; children, Chandra Bewell and Rich, Julie Ireland, Lisa Weatherbee, Bobbi Lyons, and James and Amy Lyons; 16 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charleen and Duane Aldrich and Diane Marble; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1-2p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln where a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev Scott Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Town Line Hill Cemetery, Enfield. The family wishes to thank his caregivers for providing him and his family with all the loving, respectful care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to MRC Mission Fund, American Diabetes Assoc. or MVH Bangor-Unit B. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
