VENICE, FL AND HERMON, ME - Robert R Hall, 81, passed away in Venice FL, August 28, 2014 after a brave battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born January 6, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa, to George and Mary Hall.
Bob joined the Air Force as a teenager and remained in the military until his retirement as Colonel at the Maine Air National Guard in 1993. While in Maine, Bob met his wife, C. Jeane Brown. He and his wife were both avid skiers and spent many weekends with friends at their condo in Sugarloaf USA. When the snow melted, they frequented the Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono. Bob got his Pilots license in 1971 and enjoyed flying for many years. A member of Anah Shriners, he played trumpet in the Anah Drum and Bugle Corp. He loved fishing, golf and playing poker with friends. Bob was very involved in his community, serving as President of Bangor Kiwanis Club, United Way of Penobscot Valley and Penobscot Valley Country Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bangor, Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry and Calvary Bible Church in Venice, FL.
He is survived by companion, Verna St. Peter of Veazie, brother, George Hall of Rockwall Tx, nephew, Mark Hall of Heath Tx., special niece, Janise Day of Milford, along with many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, C. Jeane, his parents and nephew, Tom Hall.
A Maine Military Honors Ceremony will be held at the Chapel of the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd. Augusta, 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22.
