Robert's Story

ST. DAVID - Robert "Bob" Gogan, 65, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2015. He was born on November 27, 1949 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, son of the late Antoine and Rita (Soucy) Gogan.

He was a very humble man and was never one to brag about his accomplishments. In his younger years, Bob was a powerlifter receiving many trophies and was published on many magazines downstate for his triumphs. He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, and playing golf, but most importantly bringing his two dogs for daily rides on the four-wheeler. His most important accomplishment in life was helping raise his five step-children, Sara, Israel, Eli, Micah, and Rachel; whom he was always very proud of.

Bob is survived by his companion, Diane Grivois of St. David; five sisters, Janet Kolbs and her husband Dennis of Wisconsin, Charlene Michaud of Edmundston, N.B.; Nancy Gogan, Pat Marks, and Joan Bouchard all of Florida; two brothers, James Gogan and his wife Helene, and Charles Gogan and his wife Berthe all of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Patrick and Normand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until 10:45am on Tuesday before the service. For online condolences, please visit
