Robert Carver Brooks, 77, of Sandy Point, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on October 1, 2016. Bob worked in and traveled to many places, but Waldo County was always home to him. Bob was a graduate of Lewis and Clark College and Harvard Business School, served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, and worked most of his adult life as a Program Manager for Raytheon Corporation. His interests included significant genealogical and naval history research.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dr. Judy Oneal-Brooks of Sandy Point, his sisters: Betty Hebrew and family of Delta, Colorado; and Kathy Johnson and family of Peoria Illinois and one brother, Art Brooks and family of Arlington, Virginia, and sister-in-law Charlene Churchwell and family of Macon, Georgia. Per Robert's request, there will be a private celebration of his life and no funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Bucksport. mitchell-tweedie-young.com
