EAST MILLINOCKET, ME AND BROOKLYN, NY - Robbie Lee Waite, 48, lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Oct 20, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Millinocket, Oct 3, 1966, the son of the late Ross (Billy) Waite and Priscilla (Diddy) Barker.
He is survived by his fiancé, Tashad Bristol and daughter, Ariana Priscilla Waite of Brooklyn NY. He is also survived by his mother, Diddy and sisters, Nancy and husband, Jeff Scully, Jan Waite, Billie and husband, Russell Farley, brothers Allan, Kent and fiancé, Gay Dickinson, Leslie, Ross, Jamie Barker and stepsister, Gilda Stratton; nieces and nephews, Jon, Kristy, Ryan, Jes, Angela, Aaron, Traci, Faith, Jordon, Abbey, Hannah, Wilson, Kaley, Kristy, Karlie, Taylor, Nick and Bethany; great nieces and nephews, Jocelyn, Kendall, Chase, Jude, Ava, Emma and Hanna and Jade. Also, Cora and Tanza Bristol with extended family of Brooklyn, NY. He was predeceased by his dad, Billy in 1967; his brother, Shane in 1991 and stepfather, Henry Barker in 2009.
Rob graduated from Schenck High School in 1984. He was active in cross country, basketball and baseball. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS JFK as an aircraft mechanic. After his tour he attended East Coast Aero Tech School for in-flight mechanics in Massachusetts. He worked for several airlines traveling the world as an in-flight mechanic. On one of his flights Rob met President Obama on the campaign trail.
Robbie was loved by many. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He touched the lives of so many people. He was very close to his classmates. Robbie and his brothers attended a Red Sox game as an annual trip. He loved the Red Sox and the Patriots, a true New England fan.
Robbie was always looking on the bright side of things, the glass was always half full. He was the ultimate tour guide, he knew all the best places to eat and sights to see.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been established for Robbie's daughter. Donations may be sent to any TD Bank for Ariana Priscilla Waite. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Robbie's life on November 1, 2014. It will be held at the First Congregational Church in East Millinocket, ME at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the East Millinocket cemetery with military honors.
