- Richard Dana King, 89, passed away Friday evening, July 21, 2017 at his residence in Presque Isle. He was born December 19, 1927 in Presque Isle, the son of Clement and Helen (Higgins) King.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Richard belonged to area gun clubs and was a life time member of the N.R.A. He owned and operated a bulldozer business for twenty years until he joined his father on the family farm, farming potatoes. Richard eventually took over the family farming business and farmed until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his wife Irene (Fuller) King of Presque Isle, sons; William King and his wife Dawn of Mapleton and Thomas King of Presque Isle, daughter-in-law, Crystal Hamilton of Manchester, ME, grandson, Michael King of Oklahoma, sister, Jackie Haines and husband Harold and brother-in-law, Eddie Hews all of Presque Isle and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by sons; Richard D. King, II and Robert King, sisters; Dorothy, Arlene, Barbara and Geraldine, his brother Clement King Junior and half-brother Ted Coffin.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Pastor Chris Dare, officiating.
