ELLSWORTH - Richard Alan Garland, 52, died July 22, 2015 in Ellsworth. He was born in Hartford, CT, a son of Paul Frederick and Angeline Ann (Fargnoli) Garland.
Rick was a man of immeasurable faith and pastor of The Free Christian Society Church. He always looked to the bright side of life, never complained and never let his disability alter his positive attitude. He only saw the best in people and had a kind word for everyone. He was a thoughtful caring compassionate man and an inspiration to all who are privileged to know him. His wonderful sense of humor always made people smile. His life was dedicated to serving and loving his fellow man, and lending a hand to all those in need. He was proud to offer a 24 hour prayer line to which he personally answered. He volunteered at the Mariaville Grange, food pantry, hospice, and made regular visits to the local hospitals.
Besides his faith in Jesus, Rick loved his family above all. He especially loved his great nieces and nephews as they gave him great joy. His two favorite past times were eating good food and watching the Wheel of Fortune game nightly with his father
He is now walking with Jesus as a heavenly angel and will be missed by many, but shall forever remain in our hearts.
He is survived by his parents; brothers, Fred, Steve & Jim; sisters, Sundy, Paula, and Vicky; nephew, Robert, nieces, Renee', Holly, Sarah and Angeline; great-nieces and nephews, Amber, Nicholas, Megan, Ryan, Zachary, Devin, Jordan and Jace
