Rev. Carroll's Story

BANGOR AND LOWELL - Rev. Carroll E. Langley, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov 21, 2014, after battling cancer, with his beloved wife Lorain by his side.

He was born August 11, 1933 in Frankfort Maine, the son of Eugene J. Langley and Gladys E. Greenleaf-Tarbox. Carroll grew up in Lowell Maine where he went to school. He went on to join the United States Marine Corp at age 19. Carroll married the love of his life Lorain S. (Mitchell) Langley on January 31, 1954 and they were blessed with three precious girls who loved him dearly. After working many years with Bridge Construction he went into a full time ministry. Carroll and Lorain started their ministry in Lagrange Maine and served there for 12 years. They then went to Springfield Vermont and ministered for 18 years.

As a symbol of his ministry and commitment to serve his Lord, you will find a tall lit-up blue cross in front of both churches where he ministered. At retirement they went into the R.V. ministry for six years traveling across the United States helping churches and colleges with any needs they may have had. Carroll was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God for over 50 years, where he served as presbyter and alternate for several years in the Northern New England District .

He is predeceased by his father, Eugene J. Langley, mother, Gladys E. Tarbox, brothers Clayton H. Langley, Blake A. Langley, Hollis J. Langley, infant brother Tudy Langley. Sisters, Mildred Gallagher and Esther Langley.

He is survived by his wife of 60+ years Lorain S. Langley. Sister, Jacquelyn Greenleaf of Cape Elizabeth, Me., Sister in-law Rella Langley of Lowell, Me., Brother in-law Reginald Mitchell of Alton, Me. Children, Victoria J. Gordon of Kennebunk, Me. Debra J. Salisbury of Bangor, Me. Pamela J. Robinson and her husband Stanley W. Robinson of Bangor, Me. Grand Children, Karol-Jean Reid and her husband Shawn of Skowhegan, Me. Heather L. Pushor and her husband Daniel of FL. James M. Salisbury and his wife Amanda of Rome, Me. Corey R. Salisbury and his wife Leslie of Barre, Vt, Shawn E. Salisbury of Bangor, Me. Daniel W. Robinson and his wife Heidi of N.C., Matthew B. Robinson of Bangor, Me.

Great Grand Children: Jordan Reid, Devan Reid, Kathleen Pushor, Daniel Pushor, Leighton Salisbury, Jacquelyn Salisbury, Caleb Salisbury, Aidon Salisbury, Evan Robinson, Luke Robinson, Ashley Robinson and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road Lincoln, with Pastor Philip Mumford III officiating. Interment will be in Lowell Cemetery.
