Rena's Story

MADAWASKA - Rena Mae Dubois, 81, passed away at her home on February 15, 2015. She was born in Fort Kent on February 17, 1933, daughter of the late Eddie and Imelda (Pelletier) Dubois.

Rena worked for twenty five years as a school teacher in Madawaska until her retirement in 1978. After retirement, she owned and operated the Madawaska Sport Shop for a number of years with her husband. Rena had a very independent spirit and loved to play cards with her local cousins.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Hardin and her husband Howard of Poland, ME; one son, Philip Dubois and his wife Michele of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Jesse Bell and his wife Sara of Easton, and Todd Dubois and his wife Sierra of USMC, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Johnathan Dubois of Vancouver, British Columbia, Joshua Bosse and his wife Katherine of Caribou; three great- grandchildren, Alexis, Ben, and Lyla; two sisters, Germaine Murphy and her husband Medley of Augusta, Rolande Banville of Fort Myers, FL; one brother, Joseph Dubois and his companion Doreen of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alvey Dubois; one sister, Carmen Furlong; one brother, Herman Dubois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Monday, February 23 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences to the family at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
