FORT KENT - Reginald D. Madore, 87, died peacefully surrounded by his family August 4, 2015, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born on June 2, 1928, in Fort Kent, son of the late Denis and Marie (Cyr) Madore.
Reginald was an active volunteer of the Fort Kent Fire Department for 40 years, and part of that time he served as Assistant Fire Chief. He also belonged to the Aroostook County Federation of Firefighters and taught fire safety to children in preschool. One of his favorite past times was working in his wood shop making wood crafts for his family. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Janelle (Nadeau) Madore of Fort Kent; seven children, Louise Morningstar of Lincoln, Nebraska, Donald and wife, Joyce Madore of Fort Kent, Judy and husband, Roland Taggett of St. Francis, Barbara Pelletier of Fort Kent, Debra and husband, Harold Pelletier of Fort Kent, Paula and husband, Ron Eaton of Hermon, Me., David and wife, Jenny Madore of Fort Kent; one brother, Philip Madore of Fort Kent; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Reginald was predeceased by 3 brothers, Camille, Rosaire, and Lionel Madore; 2 sisters, Laurette Audibert and Regina Early.
Friends may call 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will be held at a later date in the parish cemetery.
