RAYNOLD's Story

PRESQUE ISLE - Raynold Legassie Sr. 89 went to be with his Lord on January 21, 2015 at a Presque Health care facility. Raynold, known to all as Ray was born in Sheridan on Feb. 7, 1925, the son of Stuart and Sophie (Baker) Legassie. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. He worked for Pepsi Cola, then for Sunbeam Bread which became Country Kitchen Bread, where he stayed and retired from. Ray was a devoted communicant at St. Mary's Catholic Church and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Arleine (Markee) Legassie of Presque Isle, four sons; Dennis of Carmel, Floyd of Presque Isle, Ray of South Portland, Randy and his wife Debra of Carmel, a daughter Angela Brooks of Presque Isle, five brothers; Glen and his wife Pauline of Presque Isle, Richard and his wife Elaine, Stuart Jr. and Marie, all of South Portland. Milton and Milford of Presque Isle, a sister Joanne Saucier and her husband Jeffrey of Fort Fairfield, a sister law Gloria Legassie of Presque Isle, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, twins Harold and Gerald, Herman, Carlton, Floyd, and Donald, and a sister Jeanette Costa. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday Jan.24, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood Presque Isle with the Very Rev. Jean Paul LaBrie celebrant. Relatives and friends may call at the church 10AM until time of the Mass. Spring interment with military honors will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
