CORINNA AND E. MILLINOCKET - Raymond C. Blaisdell, Sr., 86, died unexpectedly October 12, 2014 in Pittsfield. He was born May 26, 1928 in Bangor, a son of Walter and Hazel (Chase) Blaisdell.
He graduated from Bangor High School and the University of Maine with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ray had been employed at the Great Northern Paper Company in E. Millinocket for 34 years and at the time of his retirement was the plant manager. In 1988, his family moved to Corinna. He was a member of the Morse's Corner Baptist Church in Corinna and Gideons International, Bangor Camp.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis of Corinna; 4 sons, Ray, Jr. and wife, Pam of Manchester, NH, Thomas and wife, Suely of Oxford, MA, David and wife, Shelly, and Robert, all of Sanford; a daughter, Dianne Berry of Corinna; a brother, Willard of Framingham, MA; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Guy Brewer of Corinna; a brother-in-law, John McLeod of Hermon; a sister-in-law, Nettie Blaisdell of TX; and several nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Brewer; a brother, Roscoe; and a sister, Marion McLeod.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18th at the Morse's Corner Baptist Church, Exeter Road, Corinna, with Pastor Mike Wilbur officiating.
