ELLSWORTH - Raymond F. Armstrong, 79, died peacefully at home March 30, 2015. He was born July 8, 1935, in Machias, the son of Chester F. Sr. and Eugenie M. Armstrong.
Raymond graduated from Machias High School, class of 1953. Following graduation, he served in the U.S.Army. He returned home and married Thelma L. Clough and settled in Ellsworth. Raymond was the owner and operator of Armstrong's Welding and Radiator Repair until he retired.
He is survived by companion, Bonnie Danico; his daughters, Terri Armstrong and Debra Armstrong; two brothers, Chester Armstrong Jr. and George Armstrong; two sisters, Bernice Farris and Ann Bryan and husband, Lewis; four grandchildren, Renee Garland, Zachary Armstrong and wife, Mallory, Amy Armstrong Holler and Brian Armstrong Holler; one great-granddaughter, Marilyn Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife Thelma.
As requested by Raymond, there will be no memorial or funeral services.
