Raymond's Story

BANGOR - Raymond E. Andersen, 85, passed away very peacefully October 3, 2014 at Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born in Truro, Mass., December 30, 1928, the son of Edmund C. and Alice M. (Allen) Andersen.

Raymond attended Bangor High School and upon completion joined the United States Air Force in 1946. He chose the Air Force as his career and retired as a Senior Master Staff Sergeant in 1967.

In 1949, Raymond married Joan E. Bulduc at Dow Air Force Base. Raymond was a very caring and gentle man. He loved to travel, and his military life took his family all across the United States, and even to Germany, where they lived for 3 years.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his oldest son, Carl. He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Michael, James, Kenneth, and Alan; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and his sister, Anna Davis.

A memorial service will be held 1pm, October 6, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor, with Pastor Jack Dowling of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Glenburn, officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Hermon. Those who wish to remember Raymond in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Evangelical Covenant Church, 911 Hudson Road, Glenburn, 04401.
