FORT KENT - Priscilla B. Roy, 100, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2015, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Alfred and Leopoldine (Nadeau) Beland.
Priscilla worked at SAD #27 in Fort Kent as the typing teacher for 22 years. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Hospital Guild, both of Fort Kent, and also the PBW Association. A few of her favorite pastimes were playing bridge and doing crossword puzzles. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her five children, Philip Roy of Fort Kent, Roger and his wife, Muriel Roy, of Lakeland, Fla., Lourdes Roy of Manchester, N.H., Suzelle and her husband, Larry Fisher, of Sharon, Mass., and Louis and his wife, Lilly Roy, of Fort Kent. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Michael, Andy, Peter, Erin, Robert, David and Jillian; 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by by her husband, Valier "PV" Roy, in 1967; eight brothers and sisters; and by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Roy, in 2000.
Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, May 22, at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
