Priscilla's Story

HAMPDEN - Priscilla Elaine Murch Junkins, 85, resident of Hampden, Maine. Died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Orono Commons in Orono. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Ada Swasey Murch.

Priscilla was a native of Bangor, Maine and had made her home in Hampden for the past 65 years. She was married to her late husband Chester Junkins for 59 years until his death in 2006. She attended the Lincoln, Maine Public Schools and graduated with the Lee Academy Class of 1946. Priscilla was a longtime member of the Hampden Congregational Church and was the past director of the Junior Church Choir. She was a member of The Order Of Eastern Star #17 of Hampden and a member of the Sunshine Club of Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband.

Priscilla is survived by; Son, Ronald Junkins and his wife Sharon of Hudson; Daughter, Judith Ann Bayly of Hampden; Two Brothers, Kenneth Swasey and his wife Beverly of Damriscotta, Donald Murch and his wife Kimberly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Two Grandchildren Eric and Amy Junkins both of Bangor; Two Great-grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Junkins both of Hampden.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, September 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. A memorial service for Mrs. Junkins will be conducted, Tuesday September 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment services will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery. Hampden.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Anah Shrine, 586 Main Street, Bangor, Maine 04402.
