BANGOR - Phyllis (Ramsey) Fowler, 88, died May 20, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bangor, February 6, 1928, daughter of Charles L. and Vernis (Worcester) Ramsey.
She was a life-long member of Columbia St. Baptist Church and spent many years working alongside her husband at the Yankee Shoe Repair. Phyllis was a loving mother and nana.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Melvin "Red" Fowler; daughter, Gail Jean Fowler; and a brother, Melvin Ramsey. Surviving are four children, Kathy Libby and her husband, Don, Edward Fowler, Diane Ehman and her husband, John, and Susan Thibeault and her husband, Gregory; six grandchildren, Kellie, Toni, Amy, Matt, Sarah and Ashley; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Edmund Ramsey; a sister, Marilyn Fidler; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call 11 a.m. until the time of service. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service. Interment will follow at Mt.
