- Phyllis Winona Crouse passed away peacefully at Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation on January 19, 2017, five days after celebrating her seventieth birthday. She was born in Houlton, January 14, 1947, the daughter of Arthur Sr. and Glenna (Condon) Crouse and raised on the family's potato farm in Patten.
She was a graduate of Patten Academy Class of 1965, and Husson (College) University Class of 1968. She worked in Portland a short while in the insurance business before moving back to Bangor where she went to work at BMHI. She worked at Eastern Fine Paper until June of 2002, and was a dedicated employee in the shipping department.
After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for Eastern Area on Aging and Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she formed friendships with the people she met. She was a long time member of Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church and the Brewer Eagles Club. Phyllis was an avid Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan.
Phyllis is survived by her brothers, Arthur Jr. and wife, Judith of Dover, NH and Steve and wife, Christe of Patten; nephews and nieces, Steve and Sue, Wendy and Chris, Justin and Jerrod; 13 great- and 6 great-great-nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, an uncle, and many cousins, all of whom she loved dearly and who brought her great joy. She is also survived by many special friends who were her family as well. She loved you all. Phyllis was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Giles in 1995; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Giles in 2010.

At her request, a graveside service will be held at the Patten Cemetery in the spring.
