PLYMOUTH - Phyllis M. Burpee, 75, died Sept. 1, 2015 at a Pittsfield hospital following a short period of ill health. She was born in Plymouth April 25, 1940 the daughter of Phillip J. and Althea (Norris) Bourgoine.
Phyllis was a graduate of Newport High School. She worked a H.P. Hoods in Newport for 23 years as a box maker retiring because of the plant closing. She also worked as a waitress at Jed's in Belfast, the Gateway in Newport, Irving's in Newport, and several other restaurants in the local area.
Phyllis was married to Walter H. Burpee for 51 years. He predeceased her on Aug. 3, 2012.
She was a former member of the Nokomis Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Newport. She also volunteered for the Meals for Me program in Newport for many years.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Debbie Burpee of Dixmont, and her great granddaughter Brittany Laurent of Dixmont. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her granddaughter Jessica and her brother Virgil.
