DEXTER - Phyllis S. Ambrose, 96, died January 7, 2015, at Country Village Assisted Living in Casco. She was born in Sangerville, September 26, 1918, the daughter of David and Lillian (Clukey) Shirley.
Phyllis graduated from N. H. Fay class of 1936, and worked as a bookkeeper for Harvey Hatch and later for Corinna Insurance. She was involved with Meals for ME, and was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. Phyllis was well known for her sewing and great cooking.
She was predeceased by her husband, Julian Ambrose in 1999; and by her sister, Edwina Callahan.She is survived by 3 nieces, Alana Grover and her husband, Lloyd of Otisfield, Paula Donatello and her husband, Lawrence of Falmouth; and Jean Cosgrove of Biddeford; several great nieces and nephews.
