ENFIELD - Phillip M. Ryan, Sr., 66, husband of Freda (Higgins) Ryan, died April 29, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1947, in Bronx, NY, the son of Donald and Bridget (O'Goan) Ryan.
Phillip served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for GE for more than 20 years. He loved cars, going to the beach, the New York Yankees, and watching movies. He was very dedicated to his family.
In addition to his loving wife of 35 years, Freda, of Enfield, he is survived by two children, Phillip Ryan Jr., and his wife, Christina of Enfield, and Bridget Ryan and her significant other, Tim Hunt of Clinton; three siblings, Pam Dolan of New York, Dave Ryan and his wife, Peggy of Mass., and Patti Rutledge and her husband, Charlie of New York; two grandchildren, Connor Ryan and Gracie Ryan-Hunt; father-in-law, Ralph Higgins Sr.; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Oxley and Brenda Rose; brother-in-law, Ralph Higgins Jr.; special niece, Angela Smith; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Reuger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his special mother-in-law, "Nana" Elaine Higgins.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
