FORT KENT - Philip Louis Robichaud, age 88, passed on Dec. 10, 2014 at his residence, 75 State Street, Portland, ME, while surrounded by his family.
He was born April 30, 1926 on Station Hill in Fort Kent, the son of Liguori and Elise (Michaud) Robichaud. He attended schools in Fort Kent, until the draft of World War II took him into the Navy. He served in Key West, FL., where they worked on blimps. He married Patricia Paradis on March 30, 1948 and they were potato farmers for many years in Wallagrass. He later worked for Cianbro Construction and the Fort Kent Golf Course.
He is survived by seven children: daughter Phyllis (Dr. Bert) Daigle of Lisbon, ME. and Eagle Lake, ME.; son Dana (Danielle) Robichaud of Warrensburg, NY.; son Randall (Jeanette) Robichaud of Benson, AZ; daughter Peggy (Ron) Castignetti of Winchester, MA; daughter Susan Hanscom of Orient, ME; daughter Lisa (Dr. John) Gallagher of Portland, ME; daughter Jill (Bob) Nadeau of Scarborough, ME.
He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and his siblings Patrick Robichaud of Fort Kent; Dora Franck of Frenchville, ME; Louise Barresi of Fort Kent, ME; Sister Juanita Robichaud of Whitefield, ME; Venette (Mike) Motyl of Key Largo, FL; Leo (Maxine) Robichaud of Brunswick, ME. He was also very close to his in-laws, the Family of Louis Paradis. He leaves around 100 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Paradis) Robichaud, his parents Liguori and Elise (Michaud) Robichaud, and his sister Rita Freeman.
Philip was a 60+ year Fourth Degree Member of the Fort Kent Knights Of Columbus and the American Legion.
He was a great father. He was always there for all his family, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved to joke around and make people laugh even during his last hours.
Friends may call December 29, Monday from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at the Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent. A Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated with Full Military and Fourth Degree Honors 10 a.m. Monday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring Burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Philip Robichaud's name to Seventy Five State Street, 75 State Street, Portland, ME 04101.
