Philip's Story

BANGOR - Philip F. Kittredge, 84, passed away on December 11, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. Phil was born in Milo on March 12, 1930, the son of Melvin and Gertrude (Hobbs) Kittredge.

Phil was a long-time employee of the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad as a train dispatcher. He worked in Derby, Houlton, and Hermon, retiring in 1991 after 42 years of service. In retirement, Phil enjoyed many hobbies, including an extensive coin collection, gardening, and photography.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roberta (Robertson) Kittredge; step-daughter, Loretta Grinnell of Milo; step-daughter, Cheryl Wallace of Brewer; step-son, Larry Wallace of Connecticut; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-great grandchild. Phil was predeceased by two children from his first marriage, Gail and Paul; a brother; and a grandson.

At Phil's request, there will be no service. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or any children's cancer research fund.
