Philip's Story

NEWPORT - Philip Sheridan Fraser, 89, died December 3, 2015 at a Brewer nursing facility. He was born August 20, 1926 in Dexter, a son of Philip and Victoria (Hebert) Fraser, Sr.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and worked many years at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He was a member of the Barrows-Skidgel Post # 105 American Legion, V.F. W. Post 11191, the High Street Congregational Church, all of Newport; and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Lois Diane (Jacobs) Fraser of Newport; several nieces and nephews.

Philip was predeceased by his first wife, Freda (Butterfield) Fraser in 2000; 2 sisters, Madeline Fraser in 2005, and Alice Keene in 2014.

A military graveside funeral and committal service will be held at 2 P. M. Tuesday, December 8th, at the Fraser family lot, Nutter Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev. Ernie Campbell officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 289 State Street, Suite B,Bangor, ME 04401.
