- Peter "Pedro" M. Durant, 52, passed away at home after a long fight with Pulmonary Sarcoidosis on April, 21, 2017. He was born October, 25, 1964, in Boston, MA, the son of Norman (Jack) M. Durant and Eleanor Getchell.
Peter grew up in Bangor Gardens, where he graduated from Bangor High School, Class of '83. He had a passion for sports and was a proud teammate of the Bangor Rams High school football team where he won multiple State Titles. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Air Force for several years. He continued on to college and earned his degree in Construction Management, where he worked as a shift mechanic at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Peter was an avid golfer and loved playing baseball with the guys. His most cherished moments were spent hanging out on "The Charalambous' Deck" with his in-laws, Pete and Clare, and his nephews Peter, Alex, Greg, Nick, Sean, and Adam Cavanagh with his wife Courtney enjoying endless barbecues and sports talks.
He was predeceased by his father, Jack; and mother, Eleanor. Survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jill Cavanagh, of Glenburn; brother, Jason Durant and fiancé, Dori Kendrick of Wapello, Iowa, and his step-mother, Brenda Carey Durant of Guilford, New Hampshire.
The celebration of Peter's life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Seasons' Restaurant in Bangor, ME from 1-5PM. A special thank you goes out to Lori, Mary and the wonderful volunteer staff at Beacon Hospice.
