Peter 'Pete''s Story
- Peter 'Pete' J. Sulinski, Jr., passed away on March 16, 2017. He was born on February 7, 1935 in Old Town, Maine. He was the first child of Peter J. Sulinski Sr. and Stephanie (Wozneak) Sulinski.
Peter worked all of his life as a General Contractor for P.J. Sulinski and Sons, a firm started by his father in 1953. Upon his father's death in 1976, Peter became President and CEO. The firm built many projects including schools, hospitals and steel buildings.
Peter was also a Master Sergeant in the Maine Air National Guard for 13 and a half years.
Since 1959 Peter had a hunting camp in Atkinson, ME and he enjoyed going there to spend time on his 500 acres. He was especially fond of his trout pond. Until 2017, Peter spent winters in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Peter was president of many organizations including the Old Town Rotary Club, Pine Tree Metal Building Assoc., Cold Stream Camp Owners Assoc. He was also a Tax Assessor for the City of Old Town.
He is survived by his son John P. Sulinski and his wife Francine, a daughter Sherri Miller, seven grandchildren Nicole Brewer and her husband Bert, Sammy Tardiff Kahn and her husband Josh, Joey and Nicholas Jameson and Gillan, Ella, and Brooke Sulinski. A sister Joan Lavoie and husband Bob of AZ. Also great granddaughter Kayla May Brewer and a great grandson Beckam Smith.
Peter was predeceased by his parents and sister Sally Shaw. At Peter's request there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation will follow with ashes to be placed with his father and sister Sally.
