Peggy's Story

JACKSON - Peggy A. Dunbar, 64, passed away on January 25, 2015, at the Westgate Center for Rehabilitation & Alzheimer's Care in Bangor, Maine. She was born October 10, 1950, in Castine, the daughter of Earl "Buddy" Gross and Dorothy (King) Moody.

She graduated from Bucksport High School, Class of 1968. She had lived in Bucksport, Troy, Thorndike, and Unity prior to spending the past 20 years in Jackson.

She cherished being a mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and companion. She worked in the cafeteria of Unity College for several years as well as for Penobscot Frozen Foods in Belfast. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Redsox and Mt. View H.S. athletics. She enjoyed playing softball & basketball as an adult, and was always ready to travel. She got great comfort in listening to Elvis, which was played non-stop over her last few days.

She is survived by her partner Wade Furrow of Jackson; two sons: Robby Dunbar with partner Debbie Young of Waldo, Toby Dunbar with partner Todd Loveland of Egg Harbor City, NJ; three beautiful grandchildren: Lauren Dunbar, Abbie Morong, Ethan Dunbar; brother-in-law Floyd Clement with partner Sue Carlisle of Bucksport, four nephews: Kevin Clement with wife Barb of College Station, TX, Larry Clement with wife Michelle of Bucksport, Earl "Buddy" Clement with wife Jodi of Bucksport, Luke Gross with wife Lauren of Hancock; two nieces: Denise & Darci Bevan, both of Verona; Wade's son Jody Furrow with wife Becky and their children; two step-brothers: Byron Moody with wife Sandy of Rockledge, FL, Jeff Moody with wife Connie of Titusville, FL. She was a great-aunt to many kids that she loved dearly and a good friend to everyone that knew her.

She was predeceased by her parents: Earl "Buddy" Gross & Dorothy (Gross) Moody, step-father Ardine Moody, two sisters: Earleen Clement & Nancy (Gross) Plaisted, two step-brothers: Duane & Robert Moody.

There will be a Celebration of Life on April 25 at the Bucksmills Rod & Gun Club in Bucksport, ME at 4pm. Donations may be made in Peggy's memory to the capital campaign that supports Mt. View athletics: Future RSU 3, P.O. Box 151, Unity, Maine, 04988. A big thank you to the staff of Westgate for giving her the loving care that she deserved!
