Pauline's Story

GLENBURN - Pauline L. (Smith) Curtis, 94, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015. Pauline was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Washburn, where she was raised by her aunt, Rosella "Ruth" MacDonald, on her potato farm.

Pauline loved to cook and visit with her many friends. She enjoyed raising her family and being a nanny to many local area children. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in April 2010. She had the hope of the resurrection as stated in John 5:28,29.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold; son, Earl "Tom" Curtis and wife, Jane, of Glenburn; daughter, Meleva Curtis of Bangor; brother, Donald Smith of Camden; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, James of Glenburn; two sisters, Muriel Baker of Rhode Island and Ann Martin of Mississippi. The family gives a special thanks to Stillwater Health Care for making her comfortable in her last days, and to all the sisters of the congregation.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, with speaker Brother Joe Jordan at the Old Town Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, Bangor.
