BANGOR - Pauline C. Comber, 87, died November 11, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in New Gloucester, ME, April 20, 1928, the daughter of Ernest and Lelia (Mills) Combellack.
Pauline grew up in Bolster Mills and was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, class of 1946. She received her B.S. degree in Home Economics Education at Farmington State Teachers College 1950, and in June of that year married Edward R. Comber. They lived briefly in Bar Harbor and she worked as a Teenage Program Director at the YWCA. She lived in Jackman, ME, for 33 years, being very active in community activities. They then moved to Vassalboro and owned the Grandview Motel from 1985 to 1993, then lived in Millinocket on Ambajejus Lake and wintered in Venice, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Edward of Bangor; one son, Randall and his wife, Lucy, of Pittsfield and their two sons, Aaron and wife, Brooke, and great-grandsons, Jack and Edward of Granby, CT, and Jonathan and Lindsay and their son, Andrew, of Dover-Foxcroft; one sister-in-law, Ellen Merrill and her daughters, Nancy and Shirley. She was predeceased by a son, Todd; and daughter, Ruth Ellen.
Spring graveside services will be announced by the Greenlawn Funeral Directors of Bangor. Donations may be made to the charity of ones choice in memory of Pauline.
