BROWNVILLE JUNCTION - Paula Irene (Meloche-Fontaine) Comstock, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 3, 2014. She was born October 12, 1928 in Brownville Junction, Maine, the daughter of Joseph Meloche and Irene (Fontaine) Meloche. She was a graduate of Brownville Junction High School and attended Montreal School of Art and Husson College.
Paula enjoyed listening to music and creating art. Her favorite mediums were pastels and charcoal, and her favorite subjects were portraits of people, cats that she loved, and flowers. She also enjoyed travel and adventure and over the course of her life she lived in many interesting locations including Montreal, Canada, Maine, Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington, and California. After retiring, she devoted many hours to her passion of genealogy and research about the Meloche, Fontaine, Comstock, and Flanigan family trees.
Over her lifetime she had many beloved cats including Boom Boom, Little Bit, Jigs, Twiggy, Snooky, Mooshy, and Blue. All of these cats were rescued from local shelters and were loved.
Paula is survived by one daughter and two sons and their spouses; Lyn and Brian Detwiler of Arrowsic, Maine, Ross and Cindy Comstock of Santa Barbara, California, and John Comstock and Sarah Clark Lombard of Corinna, Maine and 5 grandchildren; Rachel, Sean, Shannon, Jenna, and Noelle. She was predeceased by her brother Joel Meloche in 2002.
At the request of the family, there will be no funeral. Burial will be held privately. A gathering of family and friends will take place in the summer of 2015 in Arrowsic, where the wonderful life of Paula will be celebrated and remembered. Funeral Arrangements are through the David E.
