MAITLAND - Paul W. 'Robbie' Robinson, 83, of Maitland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Claudia Robinson. Robbie was born in Millinocket, Feb. 20, 1931.
He joined the military at 17 and served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller for 21 years. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit. After his military retirement, Robbie worked at Utilities, Inc. for 15 years. Robbie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Maitland for many years, serving as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and in many other leadership positions. He led services at Orlando Rescue Mission once a month for more than 20 years. He was an avid golfer, and he loved to travel. He and Claudia enjoyed trips to many places, including the Orient, Europe, Russia, and Australia.
Robbie was predeceased by his parents, Carrie and Ralph Robinson; brothers, Leo, Preston, Don, Byron, Eldon, Wilmot and Charles Robinson; sisters, Corinne Cotton and Carrie Farquhar; sister-in-law, Helen Sprott; and brother-in-law, Chuck Lynch. He is survived by brothers, Ralph and Earl Robinson, and sister-in-law, Anne Lynch.
A memorial praise and military service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Maitland, 1950 Mohican Trail, Maitland, FL 32751.
