Paul's Story

PRESQUE ISLE AND HOULTON - Paul Noel Phillips, 76, died September 28, 2015 in Mars Hill. He was born January 22, 1939 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Noel & Elizabeth (Lafford) Phillips.

Paul played an important role in the recognition of the Aroostook Band of Mic Macs, was the former President of the Mic Mac Council, Former Vice Chief for the Aroostook Band of Mic Macs, currently served as a Tribal Council member and a Substance Abuse Counselor continuously, even after retirement. Paul has helped many people throughout his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Hope Phillips of Presque Isle; 4 grandchildren whom he loved very much: Matthew, Caleb, Faith and David; 5 siblings: Andrew & Donna Phillips of Littleton, Steven Phillips of Houlton, Annie Bishop of Littleton, Dora & Steven Dow of Presque Isle and Betty Phillips of Houlton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special nephew, William Walter Phillips and special friend, Mary Sam of Caribou. Paul was predeceased by his parents and brother, William.

Friends may call 10 - 11 am, Friday, October 2 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St, Houlton at which time they will be moving to St. Mary's Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with David Raymond as Celebrant.
