Patrick's Story

HOLDEN - Patrick H. "Huck" Brangwynne, 84, husband of Anna M. (Connolly) Brangwynne, died Sept. 11, 2015 in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1931 in Bangor, the son of Robert W. and Kathleen M. (Young) Brangwynne.

Patrick, or Huck as he was known, attended John Bapst High School and enlisted in the Army serving during the Korean War. He graduated from Bentley College and worked for 25 years at United Brands Company in Boston, MA attaining the role of vice president and corporate treasurer and subsequently held the same position at Avery-Dennison Corporation for 9 years prior to retiring and moving back to Maine.

He was member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and most recently attended St. Mary's Catholic Church as area churches became one parish, St. Paul the Apostle Parish. Huck was an active member of the Hammond Street Senior Center, Bangor-Brewer bowling leagues and was known for his warmth, quick wit and skill with a pool cue.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Anna of Holden are five children, Kevin, Karen, Keith, Thomas and Mary; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary, Peggy and Ann; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Gerard; by a brother, Bob and 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Marshall.

A Mass of Christian Burial and burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor will be private.
