YARMOUTH AND FALMOUTH - Patricia Cleveland Bourgault, age 86, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 of complications from Myasthenia Gravis. She was born to the late John and Mary Cleveland in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 9, 1929. She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine, where she was head cheerleader.
On June 5, 1948 she married Richmond Bourgault, who passed in 1972 and was also an Edward Little graduate. They shared a love of dancing and both were known for their vibrant personalities.
In 1960, Pat and Rich built a camp on Pocasset lake in Wayne, Maine where the family still summers today. This was Pat's favorite place. She liked to say, besides her daughters, camp was her greatest achievement. She loved to sit on the dock and watch the clouds, or take a skinny dip in the "healing waters." Over the years, the entire family and many, many friends have enjoyed time with Pat at the lake creating cherished memories. There was always much laughter as she helped solve the world's problems.
In 1984 Pat moved to Blueberry Cove in Yarmouth, Maine where she spent 30 years enjoying the view down the Royal River. At age 60, Pat became a real estate broker and worked for 12 years selling homes. Most recently, she lived independently at Oceanview's Blueberry Commons in Falmouth. She loved her place and continued to make it a home base for her family.
Pat is remembered as lighting up every room she entered and being loved by all who met her. She had the ability to charm people with her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. Words to describe Pat include: genuine, happy, illuminated, inspirational, insightful, compassionate, loving, elegant, artistic, beautiful and witty.
She is survived and deeply missed by her daughters, Marsha Bourgault Wilson, Mary Jane Bourgault and Barbara Bourgault, her two grandchildren, Christopher Wilson and Caitlyn Bourgault, her sister Jane Krimbill, her sons-in-law Jimmie Lykes and Richard Gold, and a multitude of loving friends. Her family is truly grateful for the loving care given to her during the last few weeks of her life at Maine Medical Center and The Cedars.
