Pastor Leon's Story
STACYVILLE - Pastor Leon J. Robinson, 76, went to be with his Lord on May 24, 2016 at his home. He was born June 3, 1939 in Stacyville, the son of Sylvester and Mildred (Cullen) Robinson.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Berlin crisis. He was a selectman for the town of Stacyville for 44 years, retired as a saw filer for Sherman Lumber for 32 years, served as a Methodist Pastor in the Danforth and Mattawamkeag communities for 28 years. He enjoyed all aspects of the great outdoors especially hunting, fishing and gardening, spending time with his family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. And he was always planning fishing trips.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonita (Graham) Robinson of Stacyville; 4 children, Rhonda Murray and Jerry MacKovsky of Boise, ID, Christian Robinson and Denise E. Causey of Houlton, Noel Corder of St. Petersburg, FL, Timothy and Danette Robinson of Levant; 8 grandchildren, Amber Murray, Justin Hazlett, Jamie Clark, Bradley and Heather Arthurs, Melissa Robinson (soon to be Mrs. Ryan Ramsdel), Rebecca Robinson, Samantha Robinson; 6 great grandchildren, Shai, Cora, Piper, Ciara, Madeline, Zoey; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; 4 siblings, Bill, Merrill, Howard and Richard; 2 son-in-laws, Christopher Murray and Dwayne Corder; a grandson, Larry; a great grandson, Larry.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 28th at Bowers Funeral Home, 56 Sherman Street, Island Falls. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ruth Foss officiating. Interment will be in the Stacyville Cemetery.
