MILFORD - Octave J. Raymond, 77, died February 27, 2016, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born March 12, 1938, the 5 th of 12 children, born to the late Joseph and Lydia (Belanger) Raymond.
He attended Old Town schools and was a life-long member of Holy Family Parish. He proudly served his country in the Army, Air Force and National Guard. Octave was a carpenter by trade and managed and maintained various rental properties during his career. Octave always enjoyed a good practical joke, especially when he was not on the receiving end. He had a big heart and loved his family, and had a special place in his heart for his many dogs he had over the years, all named Spike.
Octave is survived by two sisters, Alfreda Mower and Theresa Ouellette; five brothers, Father Wilfred, Edmond, Richard, Gerald and Deacon Hector; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ramona King and Winnifred Searle; and brothers, Ovila and Edward.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday March 11, 2016, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 with Rev. Wilfred Raymond, celebrant at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. A light luncheon will be served in the Parish Hall. Spring burial with full military honors will be conducted at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
