- Norman Murray, 84, passed away surrounded by his family after a long illness on Feb. 26, 2017. He was born in Brewer, the 10th of 13 children born to Percy and Olga (Lawson) Murray.
Norman was employed by the city of Brewer and Husson College for many years.
Norman was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Jake, Scotty, Robert, Charlie, Paul, John and Jimmy; sisters, Beverly Comeau and Mary Avery; daughter, Debra (Murray) Cogswell; son-in-law, Bobby Commeau; and special nephew, Stephen Kocsmiersky.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia (Blaisdell) Murray; three sons, Norman Jr. and Judith, Randy, and Billy and Debbie; two daughters, Sandra and Walter Oxley Jr. and Vicki Commeau; grandchildren, Melanie, Michael, Jennifer, Jesse, Lucas, Amanda, Nicholas, Tori, Casey, BJ and Angel; great-grandchildren, JoJo, Michala, Sophia, Liam, Brielle, Tyler and Easton; siblings, Simon "Joe," Thomas, and Pauline Kearney; in-laws, Barbara Murray, Georgia Blaisdell, Francis Avery and Joe Comeau; special nieces, Carol Andrews and Betty Murray; special nephews, Bobby Kocsmiersky, David Willette and Jeff Murray; special friends, Robert Williams, David Lee, Charlie Kelley, Bobby MacLeod and Ronnie Savoy; as well as many more nieces and nephews. Norman was father/grandfather figure to many.
Norman enjoyed a lifetime of happiness with his family and many friends at Chemo Pond.
Norman requested no services at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
