Norma's Story

EAGLE LAKE & ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - Norma Pelletier Vaillancourt, 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 2, 2015

Norma was born September 22, 1942 in Winterville Plantation, Me. to the late Fred and Bernice Soucie.

Norma graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in Fort Kent. After high school, Norma married Reynold (June) Pelletier in 1961 and together they moved to Connecticut where they raised their family of four children, Deborah Pelletier, Sharon Pelletier, Cathy Pelletier Wasmund and husband Matt, and David Pelletier and wife Greta.

In 1998, Norma remarried to Richard Vaillancourt and gained a wonderful stepson, the late James Vaillancourt.

In addition to her four children she is also survived by her beautiful stepdaughter, April Vaillancourt, daughter-in-law Carol Vaillancourt, three brothers, Roderick Soucie and wife Judy, Ronald Soucie and wife Robbin, Randy Soucie and two sisters Sandra Soucie, Karen Roy and husband John, brother-in-law Ken Smith, sister-in-law Carlene Soucie, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Norma was predeceased by her beloved husbands Reynold (June) Pelletier in 1988 and Richard Vaillancourt in 2006, her beautiful daughter Deborah Pelletier, Stepson Jimmy Vaillancourt, brother Richard Soucie, Sister Linda Smith and brother Carlton Soucie.

Norma was known as Mom by her children, Memere and Memster by her grandchildren. She had a kind, caring heart, wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Norma was passionate about her family and was always there to love, comfort and support everyone in their time of joy and or need. She will be sadly missed by her family and our beautiful memories of her will forever remain in our hearts.

Friends may call Sunday, November 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9 to 10:15 am at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday November 9th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Eagle Lake, Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery.
