Norma's Story

CARMEL - Norma (Darling) Noyes, 88, died peacefully March 25, 2016, at The Burr Home in Brewer. She was born August 20, 1927, in Moro Plantation, a daughter of William and Marion (Chase) Darling.

She graduated from Benedicta High School. Norma had been employed at Viner Shoe Company in Bangor. Norma enjoyed times of gathering with family and friends, Sunday dinners, barbecues and weeks at camp on Etna Pond.  Her vegetable and flower gardens were very special to her. She also bowled on several bowling leagues at Family Fun Lanes in Bangor.

She is survived by 3 sons, Warren and wife, Cindy, of Newport, Paul and wife, Yi-Cha, of Texas and Norman and wife, Denise, of Hampden; 2 daughters, Carol Dunton of Carmel and Pat Tait and companion, Daryl Dawson, of Brewer; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren B. Noyes, on November 22, 1987. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Jack Noyes; 2 sons-in-law, James Dunton Jr. and Charlie Tait; 3 brothers, Lawrence, Reginald and Frank Darling; a sister, Winifred Mahon; and a special friend, Cecil Gillis. Norma's family would like to express special thanks to everyone at The Burr Home for the loving care they gave Mom for the last eight years.

Spring graveside funeral and committal services will be held at the Highland Cemetery, Carmel, with Pastor Tammy Noyes officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at
