Norine's Story

BANGOR - Norine A. Goss, 75, passed away from natural causes in her Bangor home on Sept. 2, 2015. She was born to David Seth Shibles and Elizabeth Hutchins-Shibles on July 19, 1940.

Norine was born and raised in Belfast where she graduated in 1959 from Crosby High School. She began attending college, which she gave up to become a full time mother to 4 children. She was also a mother to many more at Pats on State St. hill where she was a bartender for many great years.

Norine greatly enjoyed the ocean as well as cooking for her family. Her blonde brownies and homemade biscuits will be missed.

Norine was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers, Merlan Stanley Shibles and Darrell Edward Shibles.

She is survived by her siblings, Raymond David Shibles and Peggy Jean Shibles-Pellerin and her four loving children, Karen Smith, Kenneth Goss Jr., Angela Goss and Christopher Goss; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Alan, Alisha, Julia, Deserae and Makayla as well as her many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her children's father, Kenneth Goss Sr., her long-time friends, Norma Baker, Christine Jenkins and Del Merritt and all her family from Pats who called her mom. Norine was a proud, stubborn and self-sufficient woman who will be missed by all.

We encourage anyone who was affected by Norine's amazing life and infectious laughter to join us for a celebration of her life at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 11th in the Chamberlain Room of Jeff's Catering, 15 Littlefield Rd., Brewer.
