Nelson's Story

LAS CRUCES, NM AND FORT KENT - Herby, 73, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 with his loving wife Tonia by his side. He was born in Fort Kent on July 18, 1942, the third child of Alphee and Altine Michaud Theriault.

After his early education in Fort Kent, he worked for his dad driving truck and working in the woods in the winter. He also worked for contractors building I-95 from Old Town to Houlton. He moved to Connecticut and traveled all over the U.S. working for Morin Steel Company until health issues prevented him from working in his early 50s. He finally settled in Las Cruces, NM 13 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Tonia of Las Cruces, NM; his three children, Lisa Linstead, Ruby Adorno and her husband Angel of Virginia Beach, VA, and Craig Theriault of Las Cruces, NM; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step-children, Jennifer, Ashley and Kyle Franklin, all of Las Cruces, NM; six step-grandchildren; and four siblings, James (Frog) Theriault of Las Cruces, NM, Lee and Jenny Theriault, Gary Theriault and his fiancee Shirley of Fort Kent, and Molly and Archie McGinley of Norway. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Peter Theriault and two brothers, Jerry and Leroy Theriault.
